It’s been two and a half years since I’ve seen her. I’m not gonna lie and say that we had something. No, we were simply really good friends who helped pick each other up. Behind the smiles and the laughs, however, laid a deep affection.
I came across this song “Lego House” just yesterday, but I wish I could have discovered it sooner. God dropped the slightest hint of red and gave an ingeniously gifted ability to create music, and out came Ed Sheeran.
So before I digress, I want to delve deeper into the meaning of this song because 1) Ed Sheeran is awesome and 2) This describes how I’ve been feeling perfectly.
“I’m out of mind, I’m out of sight.”
This was actually quite easy to comprehend. She lives in Virginia, and I lived in Alaska and now live in Georgia. There’s this lack of physical connection between us. Of course I’m bound to be out of mind and out of sight.
“I’ll do it all for you in time.”
HAHA, I kept thinking about Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” song. No, I wouldn’t catch a grenade for her-why would she even put herself in that position in the first place. With that being said, I would sacrifice anything to make her happy. I don’t have all the time in the world, but for her, I would tell time to take a seat, and everything I would do for her would feel like time was just endless.
“And out of all these things I’ve done, I think I love you better now.”
This was definitely my favorite part. Since the day I moved from Virginia, I’ve had plenty of time to just think. Sure I can replay old memories over and over again, but in reality I don’t really want to. Because old memories doesn’t necessarily translate into reality. One burgeoning thought I’ve maintained is how much I will always care about her.
She might never like me. Regardless, I will always wish for the best for her and hope that whoever she does pick as her guy will make her happy.
